San Antonio provides two brush collections and two bulky-item collections each year. The door hanger gives the set-out date, not a guaranteed pickup day; collection can take the week.
The published pile limit is eight cubic yards, within eight feet of the front curb. This applies even where regular garbage is collected from an alley. Keep brush separate from bulky household items.
Construction debris, roofing, concrete, soil and rocks are excluded from bulky collection. Do not assume that clearing a room and stripping its fixtures can use the same municipal route.
For a bathroom or kitchen project, describe tile, cabinets and packaging separately in a dumpster enquiry. Ask how the proposed load affects the container, weight allowance and disposal charge before accepting a quote.
A container position needs to work throughout the clearance. Check whether the delivery truck can approach while another vehicle is parked, and whether the garage remains accessible once the container is down.
Keep paint cans, cleaners and unidentified garage liquids apart from the main load. Consult San Antonio's household hazardous-waste guidance for eligibility, accepted materials and current drop-off instructions before travelling.
The City offers paid out-of-cycle brush or bulky collection with an estimate based on pile size. Check that option before assuming an otherwise eligible load needs a private service.
