Keep San Antonio brush and bulky items separate
San Antonio provides curbside brush collection and bulky-item collection twice each year for eligible customers. The two piles follow different acceptance rules: clean branches and shrubs belong on the brush route, while furniture, mattresses, appliances and other accepted large household items belong on the bulky route.
The City limits a pile to eight cubic yards and requires it within eight feet of the curb, clear of parked cars, meters and low branches. Even homes with alley garbage service must place these piles at the front curb, and residents should wait for the collection notice before setting material out.

Use a private route for construction and mixed project debris
Concrete, roofing, demolition material, soil and rocks are excluded from San Antonio's curbside brush and bulky collections. A remodeling load that combines timber, tile, drywall, fixtures and dense debris should therefore be planned as project waste rather than disguised as household bulk.
A dumpster can fit work that produces debris over several days, while junk removal can work better when material is already staged and labour is needed. Declare concrete, masonry, roofing and soil before booking because weight and disposal requirements can change the appropriate container.

Private-property placement still needs a clear truck approach, a suitable surface and permission from the owner or community where applicable. Activity in San Antonio's public right-of-way can require City approval, so confirm the intended position and lead time before arranging delivery.
Paint, automotive fluids, pesticides, batteries, household chemicals and e-waste need the correct hazardous-waste route. San Antonio requires eligible residents to bring HHW to an approved drop-off option with the required CPS Energy bill and photo identification; commercial and medical waste are not accepted through that household program.
