Schedule Louisville large items before set-out
Eligible households in Louisville's Urban Services District can schedule collection for up to four approved large items. The route is for intact bulky objects such as furniture and mattresses, not bags, boxes or a loose pile created by breaking material into smaller pieces.
Only confirmed items should be placed at the normal garbage location during the stated set-out window. Keep sidewalks, streets and vehicle access clear; use a junk-removal crew when furniture is still inside, needs stairs or must leave on a fixed move-out date.

Use the Waste Reduction Center for the right material
Louisville and Jefferson County residents can take a limited number of qualifying household items, passenger tires and electronics to the Waste Reduction Center under its resident allowance. Larger, business, construction and yard-debris loads use the current paid schedule.
Acceptance is material-specific. The Center does not accept loads such as concrete, bricks or shingles, so check the current destination before loading a truck or trailer rather than assuming every project material uses Meriwether Avenue.

Keep construction debris out of Louisville bulky pickup
Lumber, drywall, flooring and demolition debris are prohibited from regular garbage and large-item collection. A suitable dumpster or hauling route can serve remodel work when waste will build over several days and the supplier accepts the declared materials.
Concrete, brick, rock, roofing and soil should be estimated separately from light mixed debris. Dense loads reach transport limits quickly, while paint, chemicals and suspect hazardous material need specialist handling rather than an ordinary construction container.

Louisville Metro lists a Pod or Dumpster Permit within its right-of-way permit system. If a project container would occupy or impede a sidewalk, street, alley or other public way, verify the required approval before agreeing delivery dates.
