Check the county route before transporting chemicals
El Paso County's household hazardous-waste facility requires proof of El Paso or Teller County residency. Large loads need advance approval; the detailed guidance includes a trailer load, half a pickup bed or more, or 50-plus items.
Describe the products and container sizes when contacting the facility. Its general opening information and detailed large-load rules differ, so check the specific load rather than assuming every visit can proceed without an appointment.
Show the slope and the retrieval route
For a container, send photographs from the street to the proposed position, showing the slope, overhead obstructions and standing surface. Ask the operator to assess both delivery and removal after the container is loaded.
