Use Cleveland bulk week for eligible household items
Cleveland's bulk collection runs during the first full week of each month on the property's regular collection day. A home can set out up to three eligible bulk items, including household furniture and appliances, while mattresses, box springs and fabric or leather furniture need the required wrapping.
The allowance does not cover bags, boxes or building debris such as toilets, tubs, sinks, drywall and wood. Check the current calendar before moving anything outside and keep bulk material separate from carts and prepared yard waste so collection equipment can reach each stream.

Choose junk removal when three curbside pieces are not enough
A monthly three-item route can solve an isolated couch, appliance or mattress, but it does not clear a basement, garage, estate or rental property. Junk removal suits mixed loads that remain indoors, need carrying or cannot wait for the next bulk week.
Cleveland properties can present steep steps, narrow side drives, alleys and limited curb space, particularly around Ohio City, Tremont, Detroit-Shoreway and older east-side neighborhoods. Share the carrying route, parking position, item count and heavy pieces before booking rather than relying only on a loose volume estimate.

Keep Cleveland construction debris out of curbside collection
The Division of Waste does not take material produced by construction, renovation or demolition through normal trash or recycling. Concrete, brick, dirt, drywall, shingles, siding and plumbing fixtures need a project-disposal route instead of bulk week.
The City offers inspected dumpster services for qualifying residential and other local needs, and private roll-off options can also be compared where appropriate. Confirm surface strength, overhead clearance, street and driveway access, winter conditions and material weight; concrete, soil and shingles can reach a weight limit before the container looks full.

Separate Cleveland yard, hazardous and business waste
Cleveland accepts prepared yard material through its collection system, with branches bundled to current dimensions and leaves or grass bagged. Large landscaping projects, contractor-generated material and loads mixed with soil or demolition debris may need a different route.
Residents can use Cleveland's scheduled household hazardous-waste drop-off for accepted home-generated products such as oil-based paint, solvents, pesticides and automotive fluids. Business chemicals are excluded from the household program, so offices, restaurants, landlords and contractors need commercial collection or a licensed specialist matched to the waste stream.
