Arrange special-item pickup through the account holder
Seattle Public Utilities offers scheduled pickup for listed furniture, appliances, electronics and other special items. The utility account holder must request the collection; tenants should coordinate with the person responsible for the building's account.
Check the item category, charge and set-out instructions when scheduling. If the job requires carrying from a room or negotiating stairs, describe that work separately rather than assuming a utility collection includes it.

Check the receiving route before self-hauling
Seattle's North and South transfer stations have material-specific acceptance rules. Recyclable construction materials targeted by the City's requirements must go to a qualified construction-and-demolition facility rather than the garbage or City transfer-station route.
Use the transfer-station guidance to check each part of a mixed load before travel. Ask where excluded material should go, and confirm charges and unloading arrangements with the receiving facility.
Do not treat construction hauling as an unrestricted choice
For third-party container hauling of non-recyclable construction and demolition waste, Seattle directs customers to its contracted hauler, Waste Management. Recycling containers must be labeled for their accepted materials and kept free of non-recyclable waste.
The City lists exceptions, including specified self-hauling and junk-removal arrangements. Check the actual job with Seattle Public Utilities if the category is unclear; a quote request does not establish that a provider is authorized for that load.
Confirm street permission and the loading work
Seattle requires the appropriate Street Use permit before a dumpster or portable container is delivered into public right-of-way. Discuss the location and impact plan with the provider before fixing the delivery date.
