Check Denver's collection lookup or Trash and Recycling app for the next large-item date and any service changes. Do not infer the collection week from a neighboring property or an old printed calendar.
Confirm the item's acceptance and set-out position before moving it outside. If an interior clearance or handover deadline needs another arrangement, request the carrying work and timing explicitly in a private quote.

Describe outdoor material beyond a yard-waste label
Check the current compost acceptance instructions for vegetation from the property. Measure branches and list stumps, soil, stone and fencing separately so you can establish which parts need another route.
For private collection, photograph the load and the path out of the yard. Explain whether anyone will load it, whether gates or steps restrict access and whether the material will be produced in stages.
Confirm the container company's permit responsibility
Denver's Right-of-Way Services FAQ assigns responsibility for obtaining dumpster or container permits to the company that owns and services the equipment. Confirm that the provider has addressed the proposed location before delivery.
Show the intended position, alley or driveway approach and overhead obstructions. Ask for the actual container footprint and vehicle clearance; nominal yard capacity alone does not establish that the location will work.
Use current recycling requirements for project work
Denver's Universal Recycling and Composting Ordinance took effect on September 1, 2026. The City's announcement includes permitted construction and demolition projects among the affected categories; applicability and exemptions need checking for the specific project.
